Time Management: Quality counts
In a previous article, we discussed how time management is critical for effective management. To achieve this, some people use time management games or various other forms of management training and I’ve talked about some methods that I use. So it was interesting to read an article by Anna Johnson in the latest edition of Kikabink News about a technique she uses called “full engagement.” Anna adapted the technique from a training schedule she used in athletics training. It’s based on the idea of completely removing any distractions in your immediate environment so as to total focus on a certain important task for a designated short period. This results in your pushing forward much faster toward completing the task. Full engagement shouldn’t be practiced for long periods of time. I think 30-45 minutes is about the time you can fully focus on one task without getting burn out. Then, after a short (and well earned) break, you can go back to your time management schedule at a more leisurely pace. In the full article, Anna’s gives several tips on how to carry out her technique.
To your success, Mike Firer, NimdX Admin
