Hi there and thanks for arriving at NimdX.
To help you take full advantage of the NimdX system, this article will run through the basics of finding the information you're looking for. In a subsequent article, we go into how you can interact with us and help keep NimdX at the top of the web directory charts!
Finding links by subject
For this example, let's say you want to find material on how to advertise your product or service on the internet. Below the Welcome message on the Home page you'll see a list of main categories. The first category is called Advertising. As for other NimdX categories, the information on Advertising has been divided into subcategories, in this case "How to advertise" and "Places to advertise".
CLICK on the Advertising icon. The new page will contain a short description or outline of the category and the types of links it contains. You'll see the subcategory icons. As you may not yet be sure what information there is on advertising, we've also included a full list of the links in the Advertising category.
Let's say you only want to see links on "How to advertise" on the internet. CLICK on the icon. You'll be taken to a list of targeted links. If you like, scroll to the bottom of the page and select how you want the links sorted:
- alphabetically
- the date the link was entered into the database
- how the link has been rated by other Nimdx users
- how many times it has been clicked
For each of these options, you can also select to see them in an ascending or descending order. Let's choose to see the links alphabetically, by ascending order.
For each link, you'll find different types of information. The Title of the product or service. Sometimes you will see an "@" sign before the title, indicating that this website is cross linked under another category because the product/service is also relevant to another subject.
Below the title is a Description, usually beginning with the name of the product's developer or owner. The description outlines the product's aim, intended use, for whom the product might be most appropriate (e.g. beginners) and its content. Nimdx does not recommend, review or rate the product or its quality. If the product has been rated by other Nimdx users, the information will appear to the right of the title.
Below the description is the URL of the website. Running your mouse over it will produce a Thumbshot of the website's Home page. A CLICK on the URL takes you to the Home page of that website(NimdX only catalogues Home page, not affiliate URL's).
Under the URL, we've added additional information relating to how often the link has been clicked, if comments have been made by Nimdx users and the date the link was added to the database.
By clicking on the Title, you'll be taken to a page with additional information about the link.
The product's price, including whether there is a recurring fee (e.g. monthly subscription) and comments (submission is limited to members only).
Finding links by keywords
Another way to finding the information you're looking for within Nimdx is to use the Keyword Search.
You have two options here.
- The SEARCH tab at the top of the Home page. You will be taken to a window in which you can enter your keyword, for example PPC , Pay Per Click, list building programs, network marketing strategies, industry personality etc. You can enter Select to search by any, all or exact matches.
- The Advanced search tab at the top right of the Home page. This option will allow you to target your search according to where the keyword should appear, how exact you want the keyword search to be and how you want the results presented.
We hope this outline explains How to use the NimdX efficiently. In the next article, we discuss how you can interact with us at NimdX and contribute your information and comments to the NimdX database.
To your success,
Mike Firer
